Batik craftsmen in carrying out the batik-making process, have a need to have production tools that significantly increase productivity. However, with various limited resources, not all equipment can be owned by batik craftsmen. In addition, not all of the equipment owned is significant in increasing the productivity of batik. This study aims to select production equipment that is a priority to be developed and significantly increases productivity, especially SMEs that are still in their infancy, such as Batik SMEs in Malang Raya. Priority analysis of significant production equipment was carried out using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Based on the results of the identification of the factors that are important to consider for choosing tools in the batik-making process, 6 criteria are obtained, namely speed, quality, price, maintenance, operation, and long term. The results of determining the priorities for the development of batik production equipment are coloring tools and color enhancers (padders), canting stamps, and drawing tables. The results of prioritizing the selected tool allow it to be developed and applied to batik SMEs in Malang Raya or other areas that are also at the developing stage in Indonesia. © 2023 Author(s).
