Modelling sediment transport is central in studying morpho dynamics of coastal areas where complex hydrodynamic features present. This study will investigate the sediment transport within the Pulau Pasaran Strait in Bandar Lampung coast. The problem involves sediment flow encountering rows of bridge piles in shallow water environment. The common hydrodynamic model based on non-linear shallow water equation is used. The results indicate a significant difference in sediment yield between the two sides of the bridge, highlighting the impact of the piles on disrupting the flow through the strait. Fully developed land formation around the bridge is projected to occur within 8.69 years. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.
